Our Process

Bringing your dream home to life on your land is easier than you think. At Oakmont Homes, we combine our proven process, thoughtful design, and commitment to quality to make building on your own lot seamless and rewarding.

1. Process Start

Visit any Oakmont Homes Model to review our Build on Your Lot (BOYL) preliminary checklist of items you will need to start the BOYL process.

2. Construction & Sales Consultation

Our Construction and Sales experts will work with you to understand your needs to determine how we can best help fulfill them.

3. Property Evaluation

Construction and Sales will meet with you at your property to better understand how you desire your home to be constructed and placed on the property.

4. Floorplan Determination

Our team will work with you to determine if we need to enter into a architectural design agreement or if one of our current plans can be modified for you.

5. Sales Agreement

After plans are priced by our estimating team, we will provide you with a specification sheet and a final sales price so that we can enter into a contract to build your custom home.

6. Design Appointment

Once the contract is completed, we will schedule a design appointment at our design center to review and finalize all interior and exterior selections.

7. Construction

We will begin construction once we have obtained all ACC approvals, the city/county permits, and all changes to your plans and specifications are finalized. Prior to construction starting, our construction manager will meet with you to review your plans, specifications, and design features. During the construction process we will have several site meetings to discuss the progress and other details.

8. Completion

Upon completion, our construction team will perform a Customer Orientation with you. We will then schedule a closing appointment at the title company. With a BOYL, the closing process varies slightly depending on the financing situations of each individual customer.
